01 Apr School Maintenance
Chennai, India
There is strong evidence that quality infrastructure at schools improves students’ performance and reduces dropout rates among other benefits. On behalf of Frost & Sullivan Institute, Chennai, we visited Chennai Middle School – a school for underprivileged children from nearby slums. Since the school has limited funds and support for the upkeep of the premises and classrooms, our volunteers decided to make a difference by giving a facelift to old worn out black boards for the new academic year. They cleaned and painted the boards for the kindergarten and primary classes with utmost enthusiasm.
